What is Shell Cordovan?

Rocado Shell Cordovan leather is crafted in Toscana, Italy, by Rocado, a renowned tannery that has been in operation since 1982. As one of the few remaining producers of this exceptional leather, Rocado is known for its meticulous craftsmanship, rich colors, and premium-quality hides. Shell cordovan is a rare and highly regarded leather derived from a specific layer of horsehide known as the "cordovan" layer. Using a time-honored vegetable tanning process that spans six months, the leather undergoes careful hand-finishing to achieve its signature quality.
